Engage Impact Kenya
Short-term teams serve Impact Kenya 2-3 times every year in several important ways. Typically teams are made up of individuals who work under the direction of a Kenyan leader on a building project, as part of a medical team, in the orphanage, at the school and/or in a ministry capacity.
"The most important investment short-term team members can make in Impact Kenya is to take the time to build relationships with the children and staff."
- Dave Boyes, Impact Kenya, Canadian Program Leader
In previous years, short-term teams have built a dormitory, installed a septic system, built a playing field, added classrooms to the schools, installed a water system and completed various repair/renovation projects.
Nurses, doctors and their team members have served Impact Kenya treating locals suffering from various injuries, illnesses and infections. Medical teams often bring medical supplies with them to be used for the clinic and also to restock Impact Kenya's supplies.
Team members may also serve at the Shangilia Children's Home by befriending, mentoring, and parenting the orphans. They help with homework, play with the children and build important relationships.
Teachers may work alongside national school teachers, helping in class, mentoring, and learning from and encouraging each other.
Team members may have an opportunity to teach, preach and/or share their faith with others.
