Engage Listen to Learn Institute International
Listen to Learn Institute International has several different types of service opportunities:
"These four Engage opportunities play a very important role in this ministry. Front line Bible teaching is demanding but rewarding kingdom-building work. However, using a technical or linguistic skill shouldn't be underestimated either. Both play an important role in this ministry. Even while working at home, Editors and Segmentors can help spread the gospel to thousands of people who would otherwise have no opportunity to hear the kind of Christian teaching so readily available to us."
- Bill Fitch, Listen to Learn Institute International, Canadian Program Leader
1. Micro Bible Teaching Teams - Under the direction of national leadership, short-term "micro" Bible Teaching teams of one or two are matched with an African speaker to teach at 2- or 3-day Listen to Learn Cohort conferences in two or three locations. North American Bible teachers and their African counterparts have the opportunity to listen and learn from each other. African pastors benefit from the opportunity to be exposed to new teaching from the west while North American teachers grow as they learn about a new culture and new ways of experiencing God.
2. Micro Technical Teaching Teams - Under the direction of national leadership, Listen to Learn has openings for short-term "micro" teams of one or two people who could teach 3-week keyboarding classes to Listen to Learn transcribers plus others in the community.
3. At-Home Support Editors - At-home Support Editors take a transcribed English manuscript and copy edit this material into proper English.
4. At-Home Support Audio Segmentors - At-home Support Audio Segmentors transform a standard audio file into a file ready for a translator, by adding white space at appropriate moments. Preaching or public-speaking experience preferred but not necessary.
