Engage Welcome Home Kitchener

Welcome Home would like to invite individuals, families, local churches and church groups to share in the blessing of serving refugees. Becoming involved with Welcome Home is a tremendous relationship building opportunity for local church groups. As congregations volunteer together at Welcome Home, they build relationships not only with refugees but also with each other. Both congregations and refugees benefit from their new found relationships. Volunteers may have the opportunity to:

  • build friendships

  • bring a meal

  • play games and music

  • clean, paint, repair

  • help move

  • participate in special events

  • tutor

  • become a Welcome Home Host

Welcome Home also helps refugees integrate by matching Canadian hosts with new refugee arrivals. Hosts and refugees both benefit with exposure to a new culture. Our desire is that each refugee encounter Jesus and the long-term friendships developed between refugees and hosts are a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate and speak about His love.
