Educational Development. The vast majority of teachers in South Sudan lack appropriate training. Teaching is done by an old-fashioned method, and students who can’t learn on their own fall behind and eventually drop out.
Emmanuel Christian College (ECC) seeks to be a powerhouse for change and educational development through introducing the student-centred approach to teaching and learning, which has the power to transform the country.
An education system that teaches literacy and higher-level thinking produces students who can assess, evaluate, and synthesize, which in turn lays a foundation for a stronger economy and improved social systems and infrastructure.
Confident Children Out of Conflict (CCC). The CCC is a South Sudanese NGO founded in 2007 to respond to the needs of vulnerable street children in Juba, mainly girls and young women that are victims of or at-risk for Gender-Based Violence.
The vision of CCC is to provide vulnerable children with a safe space to sleep, eat, learn and play so they can develop into young adults who have fulfilled their potential. CCC also works to support households as they develop a protective environment for safe reintegration of these children into their communities.
