Impact Zambia works in partnership with local leaders to help some of the poorest communities in rural areas of southwestern Zambia. Its programs are primarily operated through New Life Tabernacle and Cell Ministries (founded in 1994 in Itezhi-tezhi, Zambia) and its 30+ churches.
The Life Impact Training Centre had its origins from the Share Your Knowledge program which provided sewing and other employable skills in partnership with Rotary International, Canadian and South African churches.
Since meeting the Program Leaders Daniel and Florence Mayapi in 2009, they have expressed their dream for skills and leadership development in their rural district. The remote district is six hours away from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, and has no training centres for the surrounding communities. Impact Zambia was launched in 2012 with the financial support of a church in Goderich, Ontario. The first project was to build an office and preschool on the site of the Itezhi-tezhi church, and to build two new church buildings in the rural communities of Mumbwa and Namwala. The current focus of Impact Zambia is to complete the entire Life Impact Training Centre campus and improve the quantity and quality of trainings offered so more churches and communities can flourish.
