Common Questions

We know that questions might come to mind during or after making a gift.
You’re not alone! We’ve compiled a list of the most common questions we receive below. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please contact our Donor Care team by emailing donor.care@iteams.ca or calling 519-669-8844 ext 1. We’d love to hear from you!

Your Gift’s Impact

Where does my donation go?

Your gift helps transform lives and eliminate poverty around the world!

With each donation, 77% goes straight to the ongoing transformative work of our local partners and 23% goes towards administration and fundraising. These numbers are generated through a 5 year rolling average and are well within the CRA guidelines for Canadian Charities.

All donations will be used for board-approved programs and projects. When any goal has been met, extra funds will used where the need is greatest.

If you’d like to read more about how your donation is put to work, you can view our most recent Annual Report here.

Giving Online

I didn’t get an email confirmation after making my gift online. What should I do?

Thank you for your donation! Once you’ve made an online donation, you should receive an email confirmation from us with the gift amount and your name and address along with a pdf tax receipt within a few minutes. Be sure to check your junk mail. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please contact us at 519-669-8844 ext 1 or donor.care@iteams.ca.

Why are you asking me to cover the processing fee?

You can make your gift go further by covering the processing fees for your donation. When you go the extra mile and pay this small transaction fee, you’ll be helping to make a bigger impact in ending poverty around the world.

Other Ways to Give

Can I mail in a gift or drop it off in person?

Of course! Thank you so much! We accept donations both by mail or dropped off at our office in Elmira. To mail a donation, send a cheque made out to International Teams Canada to the following address: 1 Union St. Elmira ON N3B 3J9.

If you want to give your gift in person, you’re more than welcome to drop it off at our office. You’ll find us on the second floor of the big building at the corner of Union and Erb. We’re open 8:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday.

Can I make a donation by e-Transfer?

We appreciate that eTransfer is a convenient and common way to send funds but we do not accept donations via this method. Although it can be preferred channel for donors it is our policy not to accept them for security and administrative reasons.

Thank you for considering such a generous gift. Gifts of stocks and securities can be made by following the directions on our Stocks and Securities page.
